We're interested in compelling stories that will engage an audience across any genre, fiction or non-fiction. It doesn't have to be your magnum opus (though those are welcome too), it just has to be well-written, compelling, and entertaining. We're especially excited by strong voices, under-represented perspectives, and stories with clear hooks that can resonate with readers. If you believe in your story, we want to read it.

At this time, we are not able to accept illustrated children's books, board books, graphic novels, or photo-based books (like cookbooks, craft guides, coffee table books, etc). Photos or illustrations that appear in-line with the text of your work are fine!

We believe in human creativity. AI is a powerful tool that can help authors organize their thoughts, but it should not be used to draft any part of your story. Warrenfeld Stories will not knowingly publish work that is AI-generated or infringes another's copyright. If a published work is later found to infringe or be inauthentic, the author may be responsible for any resulting claims.

No, there are no upfront or hidden fees for our authors. We work on a traditional publishing model, where Warrenfeld Stories pays the upfront costs to publish your work, and we share royalties when your book sells.

There is no set timeframe, and we understand that you might want to give it another once-over before sending. We do hope that you'll be as excited to send in your submission as we are to read it! Sending it in a timely manner allows us to get back to you as soon as possible, which is in everyone's best interest!

Yes! Part of the benefit of working with a publisher is access to editing, proofreading, and fact-checking. Your work should be as polished as possible before submission, so that we're reading your best effort, but it will likely go through several more processes before publishing and distribution.

We are a new press and typically work with previously unpublished authors, so we are unable to offer advances at this time. We aim to take the burden and expense of publishing off of authors so that those who might not have the resources can tell their stories and reach their audience. We assume the risk of this investment because we believe in your work and think others will want to read it. If we gave advances, we wouldn't be able to offer our services to nearly as many authors.

You will earn royalties for every book sold, and so will we. That is how we cover costs incurred, and hopefully make a small margin so that we can stay in business and keep helping authors. The exact number you will earn depends on the printing and distribution costs of your book, the selling price, and our agreed upon royalty split (normally 50/50). We're happy to provide more information about our standard royalty split before you submit your full manuscript so you know exactly how it works before agreeing to anything.

We know that waiting is the hardest part! We assure you that we are reading as fast as we can, and want to give each submission the attention it deserves. We read them in the order they are received, so your wait will depend entirely on how long the list is.

You always keep the copyright to your work. If we offer you a contract, it will give Warrenfeld Stories the right to publish and distribute your book (in agreed formats and territories) for a defined period. All other rights (film, translation, merchandising, etc.) remain with you unless we both agree otherwise. We include clear reversion clauses so that if we stop publishing your book, the rights return to you.

At Warrenfeld Stories, we believe in supporting authors and building them up. Our Submission Agreement stipulates that you retain full copyright and that we only read your work for evaluation purposes. We cannot and will not publish your work without your written permission in a signed publishing contract.

It is possible that another author could have an idea similar to yours, and if we choose to publish their work, it may seem to you that the material is familiar. We encourage all authors to keep thorough records and version histories during their writing process, so that any disputes can be easily proven or disproven. Please make sure you read and agree to our submission agreement before submitting any work.

If you have received a rejection letter, it is most likely because your work does not meet our criteria for publishing. If we think your work could be revised to be more suitable, we will detail that in your letter, and invite you to re-submit if you want to. If your letter doesn't include that language, it is probably best that you continue to look for a publisher that will be able to help you.
