You Have a Story. We Want to Read It.

We're polishing our glasses, brewing our tea, and settling in with a good book. Will it be yours?

Submit Your Work

How It Works

Our transparent, step-by-step publishing process

1

Submit Your Query

Complete the submission form with your book's key details. We don't ask for the full manuscript at this stage, but we do prefer that the work is completed before you submit your query. This helps keep the process moving along without lag time between the steps, and also ensures that the synopsis you're submitting accurately reflects the work in its finished state.

2

Initial Review

We read every submission to see if it meets our initial criteria. At this stage we're looking for an original concept, clear and compelling writing, and format suitability (please see our FAQ page for a list of books that we cannot accept at this time).

3

Invitation to Submit Full Manuscript

If we think your story is a potential fit, we'll contact you with an invitation to send the complete manuscript and a signed copy of the Submission Agreement. You are under no obligation to submit your manuscript if you've changed your mind or have found another publishing partner, but we do ask that you kindly let us know if this is the case so that we can extend the opportunity to other writers in your place.

4

Evaluation & Decision

We'll read your full manuscript in its entirety. If we'd like to publish it, we'll send a draft publishing contract that spells out royalties, rights, and timelines. Signing this contract means that you're granting us the right to publish your work, and you will not have the opportunity to change your mind or find another partner after this point.

5

Editing

Once the contract is signed, we'll work together during the editing process. The amount of notes and revisions will depend on how close the book is to being ready for publication. You will be responsible for delivering the final draft in an editable format, which will then be proofread and prepared for publication.

6

Production

Once your draft is locked, Warrenfeld Stories will commission an artist to design the cover, and will draft sales copy, including metadata. Your feedback is welcome on these aspects, keeping in mind that the number of revisions may be limited.

7

Publication & Distribution

We handle the final formatting, purchasing and assigning ISBNs, printing and distribution (through platforms such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and other retailers). You keep your copyright; we license the right to publish for the agreed period.

8

Royalties

You earn royalties on each sale. Each sales platform pays out on a different schedule, so your earnings will be consolidated and paid on a regular schedule with clear statements so you can track your earnings. You will be responsible for your own tax withholdings, reporting, and filing.

9

Rights Reversion

All good things must come to an end. If we stop publishing your book or the contract term ends, all rights revert to you according to our contract.
